After a close loss in week 1, Oatley 1st Grade took the field with a sense of purpose. From the kick off the boys seemed determined to play their brand of football. A few hard runs up the middle and Tuti was over for a 5-pointer next to the posts. With the wind blowing hard straight across the pitch, Mata was able to convert.

The first half saw the Oatley boys get across the try line another 4 time, with Brendan crossing twice on the right wing, AT scoring right under the post and Steve Kim scoring I the left corner. These tries came for the boys keeping the ball in hand, running hard and supporting their team mate. With a few too many turn overs at the breakdown it was not a perfect half of rugby, Macquarie Uni ending up scoring just before half time from one of these turn overs. At the break the score was 31-5.

The second half saw the Oatley boys muscle up in defence, with Mata earning a Yellow card for a deliberate knockdown, Macquarie Uni attempted to set up camp in Oatley's red zone with a 1-man advantage. Our defensive line speed saw Macquarie Uni unable to get across the advantage line. Though possession was in the Students favour, Oatley dug in and applied pressure in defence. With the wind still howling Oatley played smart. When we did get the ball the successful formula of running hard and supporting saw Isi and Finau both get across the line. With Steven Kim converting Isi Try.

Final Score Oatley 43 – Macquarie Uni 5
